E.T. Chong is bringing us another edition of Onegaishimasu which we told you about back in January 2018 — it’s “a new queer Asian-Pacific Islander party showcasing the beauty and vibrant richness of the community, and those with MELANIN all over NYC.” The party has been going strong since then. This is the 5th edition and they’ll be bringing it to a bigger venue (Tilt BK). I had a chance to chat with E.T., the organizer, he said what propelled him to create a new party was his need to find something that fulfilled him in a way that felt like a contribution to his community. “Ultimately,” he said, “I wanted to maintain culture because throughout history white institutions have always stolen from cultures that people of color have created. Ex rock-n-roll and(chuck Barry n Elvis) rap R&B. I wanted to create a space where it was a little more edgy and maintained the status quo of P.O.C.”

For this week’s installment (June 28th) they are having go-gos for the very first time. — “Black gogo girls and Asian gogo boys.” Gogo dancers: Kaitheblackangel, Sammykims, Karmenife, Henry Bae and Netty. Hosts for the night are Patrick G. Lee, Homosinner, Shaobo Han, Baby Uni, Thomas Jeon, Darething and Kale. DJs Mooncakethicc and Ylang Ylang. Expect acupuncture, a flogging corner “where you can get whipped — all done by female dominatrix…” Also, a body piercing live show by Jinjavitis & Alexanderdmm. I am already WOWed!
