Gio Black Peter’s Box

Last Cinco de Mayo we were hanging out at Gio Black Peter‘s place while they were filming his latest music video titled ‘Box.’ His apartment was full of spectators, alcohol, a camera crew and a group of painted naked bodies. We witnessed some real and explicit material while we were there, a girl fingering another girl, a boy receiving felatio, it was quite the spectacle, but clearly well worth it for the creation of this new video.

For Gio Black Peter’s new song he collaborated with artists: Justin Symbol (who created the music for the song after hearing Gio recite the song) and the rapper Drrty Pharms who can be seen in the video making out with Gio. We had the chance to ask Gio a couple questions about his latest creation to share with our readers…

Why Box? What was your inspiration? Word play. Think outside the box. Boxes have points. My box has no point — or at least that’s how I’ve felt at times. The song is about the frustration I’ve sometimes felt about being “Black Peter.” The video is the journey of breaking out of being a 2 dimensional character and becoming 3 dimensional person. It starts out with a guy crawling into a dog cage and ends with a guy freeing himself from being bound by ropes. The painted characters represent the rebelliousness it takes to bust through any confining situation.

We were at the filming of the video, who were that other film crew? They were a TV crew from Amsterdam. They were filming the behind the scenes for a program that will air uncensored on regular TV in the Netherlands — which off course I love since I’ve had so many fights with the censorship monster here. We can learn a lot from the Dutch.

Who wrote the song and how did Justin Symbol get involved in creating the music? It was a spoken word piece that I wrote last year after touring Europe. I was not planning on turning it into a song but after meeting Justin Symbol and hearing his band Nursing Home play, it seemed like a perfect fit. Justin made the music after hearing me recite ‘Box.’ I think he captured the energy of the piece perfectly.

How did you end up collaborating with Drrty Pharms? We’re friends so I just asked him. We actually have a couple of other projects in the works. Including a video where we take turns fucking and pissing on a stuffed rabbit. Drrty Pharms a.k.a Wolf is not just a pretty twink — he’s also a super talented writer, performer and rapper. Are you going to focus more on music now? Tell us a bit more about what you are working on at the moment? It will be a while before I’ll have time to work on music. At the moment I am working on paintings on canvas and portraits on wooden glory holes. Here is a preview just for you guys. I am also working on script for a secret film project that I will be directing.
