THE VAUDEVILLIANS WITH JINKX MONSOON
Rupaul’s Dragrace superstar Jinkx Monsoon is nothing less than a tour de force in her New York debut as Kitty Wittless in 'The Vaudevillians’ now playing at the Laurie Beechman Theatre. The premise is simple, Jinkx and her co-star, and pianist, Richard Andriessen play a married vaudeville act tragically frozen alive in an avalanche while on tour in Antarctica in the 20’s. Fast forward to present day when global warming thawed the couple out only to discover that their original music like “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” and “I Will Survive” was “stolen” by pop artists who recorded the tracks as their own. Thankfully the duo restore the integrity of the music performing the songs in their original context with great hilarity and ironic spice. Jinkx has a genuine comedic flare reminiscent of Lucille Ball, and the ability to deftly improvise with the audience like a young Carol Burnett. Grab a ticket fast cuz they’re going like hotcakes. Trust, you’ll love it, Jinkx is mesmerizing and relentless as Kitty Witless.
