Fuck You, I’m Romantic
Daniel Smith from TheSwimmingPools presents an original play
Daniel Smith, the lead singer of TheSwimmingPools, wrote a play last year called ‘Fuck You, I’m Romantic‘ and he will be performing it for the first time, and one night only, on Tuesday, April 22 at The Wild Project. Daniel told us that the play is about “a man who wakes up one morning to find that his trash has returned, and it keeps returning… I’ve been telling people that it’s Groundhog Day meets Charlie Chaplin inside Samuel Beckett‘s apartment.”
Daniel has been acting, performing and dancing for years, but this is his return to a “proper” theater. “The real story is about waste and consumption and how we are placing ourselves in peril with our carelessness.” The show is playing on Earth day, Daniel tells us to expect “a funny, weird, hopefully inspiring commentary on how we are all caught in a web of unnecessary waste and over consumption.” I totally agree with Daniel, there are too many assholes out there treating our planet like a garbage dump — she will soon have her revenge.
