Every so often, when the cosmos and moons are in perfect alignment, the homo powers that be inspire two legends to join creative forces and send our community into a shared, uncontrollable frenzy. You know the collabs I’m talking about: Brandy and Monica, Britney and Madonna, Gaga and Beyoncé. But sometimes, just sometimes, a collaboration will come along that is so unexpected and perfect that it turns the formula for a diva duet on its head. As luck would have it, one of those magical collaborations is happening right here in New York next week. On January 20th, show business legend and national treasure Carol Channing will be joined by one of our personal GAYLETTER faves, Mx. Justin Vivian Bond, for a night of songs and stories at Town Hall.

“An Intimate Evening with Carol Channing and Justin Vivian Bond” will include video tributes to the icon from celebrities, questions from the audience, and a not-to-be-missed musical set by Mx. Bond directed by Lance Horne. The event also coincides with the 50th anniversary of Hello, Dolly! on January 16th as well as Channing’s 93rd (!) birthday on the 31st.
