Postcards From The Edge
A benefit for Visual Aids
As New Yorkers we all remember hearing about Banksy secretly selling his artworks in Central Park last October for $60 a pop. Some idiot bought four and the next day had them valued at like $150,000. Suddenly every damn person in this city had a story about how they were so close to being in the park that day and definitely would have bought 10 pieces. WHATEVER.
Well this time we’re giving you the heads up. It’s not Banksy in the park—it’s the annual Postcards From The Edge benefit, where hundreds of original artworks are exhibited anonymously. Each artist’s identity is revealed only after you purchase the piece, and with works by famous painters, designers and exciting up-and-comers, you could score an impressive new artwork for your collection.
At $85 a pop, the best part is that each artwork will cost you less than a night out. The funds all go to help Visual AIDS, an organization that supports artists living with HIV/AIDS. So rather than waking up with a hangover and embarrassing memories, spend your dollars on something beautiful, helpful and potentially very valuable.
