FOOD CHAIN @ LESLIE LOHMAN MUSEUM (26 WOOSTER ST.) Slava Mogutin reads from his first book in English, Food Chain, published by the Brooklyn-based ITNA Press. Part memoir, part political satire, part magic realism, the book presents a scope of texts from Mogutin’s early poems to his latest writings, dubbed by the recent Russian anti-gay law as “homosexual propaganda.” 6:00PM, FREE!

A performance by the spiritual guide Archangel Gabriel channeled through the human vessel, Alex Rodabaugh. g1br33l receives messages from the universe, often through the Internet, and must share these messages through performance in order to help along the coming transition from the current dystopic reality to a prophesized Golden Age of humanity. MIX’S NAKED EYE KICKOFF @ THE SLIPPER ROOM (167 ORCHARD ST.) Our beloved experimental queer film festival has already begun gearing up for this fall’s extravaganza and they need some cash to get things moving… So they’re auctioning off these really cool disposable cameras that have been living with a bunch of queerdo-friendly celebrities like James Franco (we’ve got our fingers crossed for a dick pic), plus they’ll be performances by a bunch of fabulous cabaret artists including Xavier Smith and Machine Dazzle. 7:00PM, $25.

LIQUID LOVE @ SECRET BROOKLYN LOFT (LOCATION TBA) OH FUCK YES! Our favorite underground, mixed dance party is back and we could not be happier.
