Party: GAYLETTER’S INTERRACIAL 18

Here we go again. We’re feeling super INTERRACIAL after our website launched. All the stars are aligning as this Friday approaches and NYC gets ready for a night of cross-cultural copulating. Yes! we are not kidding when INTERRACIAL happens, anything can happen. Music by resident DJ Tom John and Nicky Fader. The whole thing is hosted by both of us, of course, but this time we’re joined by special guest host Shane Shane. Happy snaps provided by our new fav photog Cyle Suesz. If you’ve been to gayletter.com and seen his pics, you know he’ll make you look pretty. We are aware there’s lots of parties on Friday night, but ours only happens occasionally, so you know our joint will be fresher. That’s the T.

FREE, 10pm, BEDLAM, 40 Ave. C. NY, NY.

Party: FIRE IN THE HOLE

Even though I am not as into gingers in 2013 as I was back in 2011 during my ginger phase, I’m not gonna lie, there’s something in me that still has a soft spot for the ginge. Maybe there’s just a part of me that was born to love them. It’s that deep connection with the gingers that made me appreciate the name of this party: Fire In The Hole. In this edition expect nothing less than a celebration of gingers and ginger chasers. Expect cheap ginger boys and cheap drinks ($2 Bud Lights, Yuengling draft pints and $3 whiskey gingers). I always see gingers drinking beers everywhere they go, apparently they get overheated easily, so they have to always have something refreshing. You might think I’m full of shit, but trust me I know lots of them. Music is by DJ Sean McMahill and Ginger GoGo Opie Outerborough. I mean I have been to theme parties before, but this one is embracing the fire crotch like I’ve never seen before!

FREE, 10PM, Nowhere Bar, 322 East 14th St. NY, NY.

A NEW WEEKLY PARTY: ANCHOR WEDNESDAYS

The man behind Phoenix Fridays and the former party Su Casa — Michael Cohen — brings us a brand new weekly party: Anchor Wednesdays at Anchor Bar. The theme of the party is “hot sailors,” in other words, it’s a gay event at a place called Anchor, get it? The new party is hosted this week by Chad VoJames FletcherMax Rendon and David John Sokolowski and the music is by Greg K.

All I can say is, it’s a new party, and if Michael created it then it will probably be full of 20 year old boys so you should probably go check it out. The worst thing that can happen is you get fucked up and mistake the boy you’re dancing with, in that stripped sweater, for a real sailor. —ABI

Free, 10PM, Anchor Bar, 310 Spring St. NY, NY.

INTERVIEW & DSQUARED2 NYFW Fall 2013

Campaign Launch Party & Premiere Screening of 'Behind The Mirror' by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

Party: FRIDAY

Last Friday we were meant to host this party but Mother Nature got her period and decided to throw down a foot of snow all over the city. Afterwards the city pretty much shut down and Frankie Sharp decided to move the party to this week. So without sounding like a broken record, I thought I’d repeat what’s in order for the night. As I mentioned GAYLETTER is hosting, along with pretty much all the other relevant nightlife crews in town (Frankie covers ALL his bases). LE1F is still performing, and DJ Nita and Carlos Jadraque will be on the decks for most of the night. It’s a big space, people will be dancing and shit — swapping numbers and acting like they just came from fashion shows. You know, NYFW style.

$10 at the door, 10pm, Santos Party House, 96 Lafayette st. NY, NY.

Party: THE VALENTINE’S DAY BALL

I’ve said this before, but I’m going to say it again: I personally hate Valentine’s Day. It’s just a cheap ridiculous holiday. Trust me, I’m all for true love, but keep me away from stupid red hearts and cheap chocolates. The good news is that Susanne Bartsch & Patricia Field are throwing a Valentine’s Day Ball that will be free of love day cliches. It’s also the kick off for a new weekly party called Catwalk (also hosted by Michael Fragoso). If you know these bitches, you’ll know the party is going to be ratchet. I don’t expect to see cheap ass bouquets of roses at this place. There’s a whole bunch of creative peeps involved in the event: DJs The Return of Sister Dimension, Boyplay and Kim Ann Foxman, Paul Alexander, Marco Ovando and Jordon, Darrel Thorne, Brandon Olson, One-half Nelson, Erickatoure, Gage of the Boone, Muffinhead and Angela Harriell, Laura & Kindra Devotion and many, many, many more... “Work that pussy!” seems to be the party's motto. With this crew on board I doubt that will be a problem.

$10 W/INVITE CATWALKRSVPEMAIL@GMAIL.COM, 10PM, MARQUEE, 289 10TH AVE. NY, NY.

Party: ROOM SERVICE NYC

Fabulous British Queen Jodie Harsh is bringing her London “super hot underground house music party” to NYC. She tells us that she’s running Room Service NYC with friend Patrick Crough, who is part of the Matinee USA team. This party originated in the UK in 2010, and since then has “became the word on everyone’s lips instantly, and remains the absolute king of London’s club scene...” Expect a “frenzy of hot bodies, colorful characters, heart pumpin’ tunes and raucous behavior” — promoter’s words, Amen :). They’re hoping that the NYC version will “emulate” the London original. Jodie is also calling the hosting team “concierge,” I’m assuming they are really into servicing their guests. They are also shipping in their photographer from London and “everyone in New York is going to want their Room Service picture for Facebook...” Wow that photographer must have some serious retouching skills, makes sense, British people are really into Photoshop filters — I’ve seen their perfect glossy pics all over the Internet.
