Party: DON’T FORGET TO SAY GRACE
Leave it to queer people to just make up a theme party out of thin air—like this one by the boys from Double Headed Disco, taking place at the classic dive bar in the East Village, Nowhere Bar. The boys tell us: “We love Grace Jones, so every year after Thanksgiving, we remind people to say Grace.” This is the “7th Annual Thanksgiving Weekend Grace Jones Spectacular.” During the holidays the best places to go to are always your local gay bars, nothing like spending some time with your real family. Anyways, back to this: tunes are by DJ Jeff Jackson and Disco Connie, who of course will be playing tons of Grace Jones from all eras with plenty of “dancing and carrying on.” Jeff tells me that they’re going to transform the bar into “an orgy of Grace Jones imagery.” If you like Grace as much as we do, “put some grace in your face” and come have your self a lil’ dancy dance. —Abi
Party: Father’s Day 2
Here’s a party for all of you who are back in town on Friday, or those who never left; it’s a post Thanksgiving event to cleanse after a day spent with the most dysfunctional people you know: your family. The organizers put it best: “Thanksgiving....barf! Hiding your cigarettes from grandma, avoiding your grabby uncle, and dietary suicide. It’s the absolute fucking worst! Well, we have a reward for your good behavior. This Friday we’ve booked you a full body and mind scrub at the temple of joyful house and techno. Father’s Day is back and we’ve brought along some special guests.” These include: JM Anthony vs. Vincent L’Traques, DJ Nita, Michael Magnan & Physical Therapy (Fatherhood). Goodie! LadyFag, of course, is playing hostess with the mostess as well as being the resident “safety supervisor” for the night (if you take too much K, you’ll know who to search out for help). —tom

Party: Les Garcons at Le Baron
We met with Michael Fragoso a week before he launched his new weekly party: Les Garcons, at Le Baron, and were impressed by his enthusiasm. He told us about his dream of a champagne fountain, and scented rooms, and trays of macaroons... When we checked out the opening night, we couldn’t find the macaroons, but the room smelt delicious (courtesy of Aedes de Venustas) and champagne was flowing freely (albeit not from a fountain, but it was free, so who gives a shit!) The crowd was also excited to be there. Which is refreshing in this cynical town of ours. This Wednesday we’re looking forward to guest hosting. We suggest you get there at 11 on the dot, for the one hour St. Germain and champagne, or St. Germain and vodka open bar — you know how those fashion bitches love free drinks. DJ Mazurbate and Michael Magnan will be providing beats, we’ll be dancing. Ey, Ey, Ey! —tom
We headed to Long Island City for a bit of Miami
